How much do NYC cops get paid these days?

  2. Absolutely no. I have been with with the NYPD 15 yrs

  3. I would be surprised if they didn't.  I have worked for several medium sized agencies and all of them checked my credit.  All agencies I know of check credit.  You will need to have it straight when you apply.  The reason they check your credit is to make sure you are financially stable.  People who are desperate for money are easier to coerce into doing unethical things (i.e. taking bribes, stealing, etc.).
