The Fraternal Order of Police calls alot even though I tell them not to call. I was getting hang ups from this organization I know it was them because they called one night and my husband answered and he told them no. Since then the hang ups have stopped because they spoke to him and not me.

How can I make them stop calling ?

  1. They are not affiliated with the NY State Police, they just use some variation in their name. The department gets very little of the money they collect.

  2. The Fraternal Order of Police is the world's largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, with more than 325,000 members in more than 2,100 lodges. We are the voice of those who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our communities. We are committed to improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those we serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement, and employee representation. No one knows the dangers and the difficulties faced by today's police officers better than another officer, and no one knows police officers better than the FOP. And they are 100% legit.

  3. File a complaint with your local police department. Its probably not the FOP anyway. There's a very good chance that its a scam and repeated calls constitute criminal harassment.

No legitimate police agency or police union solicits donations over the phone.

  4. I never give to any of those places.

They have a deal set up where 10-20% of the money you donate goes to the charity, and they keep 80-90% for "operating expenses."

If you want to donate, contact the department or charity directly.
