Question:

Does the Nikon Fm2n support iso 125?

I was going to buy a used Fm2n only to realize that the iso dial seems to go from 200 to 400 on a picture on ebay. I currently have about 10 rolls of 125 and was wondering anyone who owns the camera could help me out. All the research I have done just gives a range like 25-6400 but not the actual numbers. Any advice is helpful- Thanks

  1. The dial to set the ISO values is marked at major settings such as 100, 200, 400. Between the major settings are two unlabeled settings for the values in between.  For instance, between 100 and 200 are 125 and 160. Doubling the ISO from say from 100 to 200, means that the film is twice as sensitive.

The Nikon FM2 is a great film camera. Before buying it online, make sure that it is "clean," that is, it has not been dropped in water or the sea and that the shutter mechanism and mirror are in good working order. The camera can be repaired, but repair shops are harder to find and can be costly.

  2. You can set it between the settings incrementally.
