Does the Nintendo Entertainment System only have enough plugs for two controllers?

I have a game for the NES in which up to four players can play at once, but I only see two plugs for the controllers :[

yes, the console only has 2 controller ports. You have to have an multi-tap to plug other controllers in, and they may be hard to find for the original nintendo. I'd suggest looking on ebay

The NES only has 2 controller ports.  In order to get 4-player support, you'll need the NES Four-Score (wired) OR NES Satellite (wireless) to connect to the controller ports.

The NES Four-Score originally went for about $20 & the NES Satellite for $40...  but prices today will vary on demand (& supply on eBay or elsewhere).
