I have the original PS2 ( the big one they first came out with) and a friend of mine has the skinny one that they came out with later, his has the network adapter in it already and it came with a disc. Mine however, did not come with a disc, so does that mean my doesn't have the network adapter and i'd have to buy it separately instead or just that i don't have to have the disc to get on line? He has to have the disc to be able to get on line with his games and doesn't know where it is and i was just wondering. Thanks

  1. Ok All you need is a PS2 Network Adaptor, stores still sell them at Wallmart, Zellers,

    If they dont try E-Bay,

Well All you need is the adapter, you dont need the disk because you can use a game to create the same settings

  2. The network adapter is sold separately.  Ebay is probably the best resource out there.  You need a setup disc regardless if its big or slim.

  3. Do not buy one on ebay unless you have to they have jacked the prices up so bad that they are selling for 50 plus dollars a piece. I just bought a used one two weeks ago for 14.99 at gamestop.

  4. The original PS2 did NOT come with the network adapter.  You'll have to purchase a network adapter (with the set-up disc) if you want to get it online.

You do need the set-up disc that comes with the network adapter to enter & save the configuration settings.

  5. the network adapter was sold separately.  i don't know where you would buy one now.  they will be on eBay
