I noticed there aren't any golfers on the Tour with scraggly beards or 5pm shadows or anything.

  1. Joe above me is quite correct. I cant believe I'm saying this, but golf is a gentleman's game. It wouldn't be appropriate if a man with a 2foot long beard came on to the course. Though, there are no rules, it wouldn't be correct dress.

  2. No.  Frank Nobilo used to sport the 5 o'clock shadow!

  3. Not so much a rule but I think its just the flow of fashion at the moment... You look 10-15 years ago, you had Craig Stadler with the 'Walrus' Mo, Ian Baker Finch had the beard going, John Daly had the 'merv hughes' mostache. This era was when the mo flowed... Nowadays you dont see much of it on the streets, actually come too think of it you dont see much of it at all.... except for darts lol....

Yeah women need too shave every day, their faces with a shadow does'nt exactly warrant good viewing lol

  4. They might:

Section 11.  Dress Code / Appearance of Players

Players shall present a neat appearance in both clothing and personal grooming.

I'm sure the pressure to conform is well worth the money...

  5. That's because golf is a classy sport and there aren't any helmets covering their faces.  If a golfer is forced to wear long pants then they might as well shave and look good for the cameras.

  6. The women have to shave every week.
