By choosing courses and that he is the favorite such as Pebble Beach every 5 or 6 years, St. Andrews every 5 years, this year Torrey Pines where he has dominated for ratings.

  1. The USGA has had all of those courses in the rotation well before Tiger started playing with the big boys.  How does course selection favor him.  Obviously each course will play easier for certain players.  Some setups will favor power hitters, some will favor the more accurate player.  This being said, all the players still have to play the same course with the same setup.  Dont blame Tiger for being better.  Whether the tourney is being played at Torrey Pines, or your local Muni course.  Tiger will still probably dominate the event.

  2. Sorry, dude that is a no answer to your question. they pick and choice which courses that would hold the major championship in 3 or 4 years in advance. they already have made their selection on which course to hold the major championship up to 2012.

  3. No.  Did you look at the long-term history of the British Open, the US Open and the PGA Tour?

TIger is the favorite at any course.  If it is 6400 yards, people say that it isn't fair because he'll hit 3 par 4's off the drive, and all of the par 5's in two.  If it is a 7400 yard course, he will be hitting 9 irons on holes where others are hitting 4 and 5 irons.

Bottom line is, Tiger is the best player in the world in every category except sand saves and driving accuracy.  Tiger is 1st in greens in regulation and 11th in putting.  He converts 34% of GIR into birdies or better.  That is what makes him the best player in the world.  That works at any course!

  4. No they don't favor any player with site selection.  There are many factors involved - first the course and it's membership have to want to host the event which means their course may be altered, closed for several weeks before it's played, and invaded by thousands of spectators during it.  The course has to be difficult enough to test the best players in the world, have really good greens and the location has to be able to handle the traffic and crowds etc.  Sites are selected years in advance to prepare and a dominant player right now might not even be around several years down the road.
