Does the Panasonic Viera TC-32LX85 have problems with DVD play?

Other sites say it has failed 1080i film tests. Is it really that bad for DVD-watching? If I plan on watching DVDs on my television, would I be better off getting one of the Vizio 32" TVs for a similar price

  1. NO, the TC-32LX85 does NOT  have problems with DVD play.  No DVDs are recorded at 1080i. DVDs are recorded at 480i and Blue Ray DVDs at 1080p. Since this TVs native resolution is 720p, any up-converting DVD player should be set to output at 720p, NOT 1080i. Panasonic builds the most reliable LCD TVs today as per the March 2008 issue of Consumer Reports. Vizio does not have the picture quality nor the reliability of a Panasonic. How could you even consider a Vizio over a Panasonic?!
