Or do you have to take a bus or RER from the airport to get to the nearest metro station?

  1. The RER goes directly to CDG airport; I believe it's RER B.  Air France also has a free shuttle bus that goes directly from CDG airport to the Arc de Triomphe.  If you take the Metro from the Arc de Triomphe (the Metro station there is Charles de Gaulle-Etoile), you should have no problem getting around Paris.

If you want to do the RER all the way, be sure to by a pass that works for both the RER and the Metro; I lived in Paris several years ago, and certain Metro tickets don't work for the RER, and vice versa.

  2. you have to take the RER to connect to Paris metro

  3. Yes there is a RER station in CDG airport. Buses are also available but RER is much quicker.

  4. The Metro does not go to the airport.

However, the RER (communter rail line) is totally integrated into the Metro system and there is an RER station in the airport.

You can take this line and transfer onto the Metro from any of several stops in the city of Paris Proper.

  5. RER B from the gare du nord. where you could have connection to every where

  6. you have to take the RER B to a metro station ... chatlet les halles is the most common one as it connects to most metro lines
