Does the President have a staff member to answer 3 A.M. Calls?

  5. The question is oversold.  There is d**n little that happens in the world that requires waking the president at 3am.  That is why the federal government has several million employees (which is several million too many).

    If I were President, I know that I would wake up refreshed, then realize I talked jibberish on the phone in a weird dream until I was reminded by a staff member that I just screwed-up a very important phone call.

    BTW- You remember the commercial, right?  Well, if the red phone on the President's desk in the Oval Office is actually ringing at 3 AM, then how could the President hear it, when s/he's asleep upstairs in the 3rd floor private bedroom?
