  1. The queen is the head of the Church of England, why should she kneel?

  2. The queen  sucks.

  3. No. Does the Pope have to bow to her?

  4. Noooo, the money-grabbing old sponger is head of the church of england.

  5. No, The Queen Elizabeth II is the Supreme Governor of the Church of England, which is a title held by the British Monarchs which signifies their titular leadership over the Church of England. Henry VIII, was responsible for the English church breaking away from the authority of the Roman Catholic Church after the Pope excommunicated Henry in 1533. Ever since than, all British monarchs did not bow to the Pope or acknowledge him to be the Holy Father of England.

  6. No, the queen was born of royal blood, but the pedigree of the pope is mongrel.

  7. No, no more than the Pope has to kneel when he greets her. She is the head of the Church of England, he is the head of the Roman Catholic church. That means they are equals and neither kneels to the other.

  8. Of course not,the queen,as head of state and as head of the Church of England, does not bow or kneel to anyone.

  9. Of course not- why would she? She is the head of the Anglican Church.

  10. I doubt it--she's not Catholic after all!

Probably does whatever royal heads of state do when meeting each other.  Little bow, inclination of head, something like that.

  11. Henry 8th would not be too chuffed if she did

  12. No, she does not, and this is symbolic of the reason behind Henry VIII's break with Rome in the 16th century. The truth is it wasn't all about Anne Boleyn.  He thought it was offensive that he, a king of England, should be considered subordinate to a foreign power, i.e. the Vatican.  He broke with Rome for this, but still wanted England to be a Catholic country, hence he continued to persecute Protestants and other dissenters quite viciously for deviating from Catholic doctrine. Henry was no Protestant!  He wanted to be the greatest king in Christendom, and considered himself a good son of the Church, but he allowed himself to believe that the Papacy was an abomination of God, an aberration that God had never intended.  This was probably a political convenience for him as he had been quite happy with the Papacy until it wouldn't give him what he wanted.  It was those close to him who wanted to open the door to religious reform who played on his enormous pride and persuaded him that it was heinous to expect the monarch of England to bow the knee to the Pope.

  13. Only Catholics are expected to kneel when greeting the Pope, and evidently not all of THEM do.

  14. No,she is the head of the Church of England and not Christian.
