  1. No.

She is just a figurehead and has no real power at all

The death penalty does not exist in the UK and neither do any  treason laws(the last one went out in the 1990's)

  2. No the monarchy doesn't have that power anymore.

  3. No.She really doesn't pay attention to how low someone bows are curtsies. She used to joke that her sister,Margaret did!

The Queen can not put someone to death without her Ministers and Parliament. http://www.royal.gov/uk/output/Page4696....

begins an explanation of what the Queen can do as "The Fount of Justice":The Queen has an important symbolic role as the figure in whose name justice is carried out, and law and order is maintained.

"Nowadays the Sovereign retains a symbolic role as the figure in whose name justice is carried out, and law and order are maintained, but is not involved in the actual administration of justice.

The independence of the legal system, and the Sovereign's role as the source of justice, have developed over many centuries....

"The task of administering justice in the UK is carried out by members of a judiciary acting in The Queen's name.

The Queen does not herself judge any case nor does she play any part in the judicial process.

But she has a symbolic role. By the coronation oath, and by common law and various statutes, the Sovereign is required to cause law and justice with mercy to be administered to all. In the United Kingdom, all jurisdiction therefore derives from the Crown.

The courts are The Queen's courts; the judges are Her Majesty's judges and derive their authority from the Crown; criminal prosecutions are brought in the name of the Sovereign against those charged; the prisons are Her Majesty's Prisons. In previous decades prisoners used to be detained 'at Her Majesty's pleasure'.

In the area of law, as in her other public actions, The Queen acts solely on the advice of her Ministers. For example, although The Queen appoints senior judges, she does so on the advice of the Prime Minister.

The Queen also exercises the prerogative of mercy, by which the Sovereign may, for example, grant free or conditional pardons or remit penalties, on the advice of her Ministers."

The Queen has to work with her Ministers and Parliament;she is not free to do anything she pleases since she is a Constitutional Monarch.

  4. There is no death sentence in the UK. The Queen is a figure head and has no real powers.

  5. In theory the Queen makes the laws so could do what ever she wanted, but that's why we have Parliament.

  6. UK is a member-state of the European Union.

Since in the EU there is no death penalty, there is not either in the UK.

So the Queen has no power of Execution.

  7. no there is absolutely no crime in britain now where you are punishable by death not even treason

  8. No, not for anything. Jamie B has it right, even high treason was removed as a capital offence.

  9. No.Unless you break the law she can't do nothing. She does have the power to give people a prison sentance.Thats why all prisons in the u.k start with HMP "her majestys pleasure"

If she wants you in jail for a life sentance she has the power to put you in jail for a life sentance

  10. no the queen has no power these days ,high treason and sabotage in a navy shipyard is still a hanging offence ,i dont think you can be hung in uk for any other offences.

  11. Not really...

    a) she certainly no longer has executive powers, so it would entail work by police/soldiery to arrect the person, and a judicial trial before anything could be done to him

    b) what you describe is at best lèse majesté, and unlike high treason, is no longer subject to the death penalty.

  12. I believe that the crimes of high treason and p****y still carry the death sentence, but i guess these would be given through the high judge or something rather than the queen herself, though no doubt her influence might be considered.

  13. Of course she do. She tha woman.

  14. The Queen can accidentally cause an execution by speaking her thoughts aloud as did a Monarch in history "Who will rid me of this quarrelsome priest?" Goodbye, Thomas Becket.

  15. no

However, High treason can still be punished by death
