  1. Load of c**p, when my grandmother was 100 she received a card from a secretary at Buck palace. She was a bit disappointed but I did not expect anything else. We all know what our German royals think of the english!!!!

  2. The Queen will send a 'signed' card, by post, to a person reaching their hundredth birthday if a friend or relative requests it.  Don't know what day it would arrive on if the birthday fell on a Sunday; probably Saturday.

  3. We don't have telegrams as such now, gone are the days when a little lad would deliver them directly from the Post Office. Most people hated them anyway as they usually bore bad news. I don't think that a card allegedly form Buck house has quite the same value these days as a lot of folk think that it is very patronising.

  4. Ha ha.  I was going to ask a question about royal mail today.  I have had 3 things disappear in the post lately.  What will the queen do if your special card gets lost in her mail service?

  5. Yes HM Queen does sent what is now called a Tele-Letter to any citizen on their Hundredth Birthday.  Not only that, they also get a teleletter on subsequent birthdays too.

  6. I think it is still a telegram
