Does the Red cross offer first responder, or related, training?

i want to volunteer, but don't have any training.

  1. It varies by chapter, but usually the local Red Cross has First Responder and Wilderness First Responder training, and sometimes EMT-B training.  Check with your local chapter, and if they don't have it, it may be offered at a chapter in the next town over.


  2. Red Cross normally offers first aid and advanced first aid and in many locations courses that would come under the first responder category tho some responder groups also do their own training. There is generally a charge for Red Cross training. Red Cross also has DAT (Disaster Action Team) training.  This is not medical response but response of helping people get their lives beginning to recover after a fire or a major disaster like a hurricane.  This training is also offered by almost every Red Cross chapter.  People who serve on  local DATs can take further training and as they gain experience move on to regional, national, and international disaster response.
