Does the Sony DSC-W170 take good indoor pictures?

  1. That Sony is a point & shoot, and they all have big limitations.

    Indoors in the middle of a bright sunny day with lots of windows it will do just fine.

    However, when it gets dark, it isn't so easy. P&S's tend to be rather noisy/grainy at higher ISO, and you'll need the higher ISO to hopefully not blur the image.

    Its little onboard flash has only limited use - it doesn't reach very far and tends to produce harsh light close up (external flashes have more power and can be bounced off ceilings or walls, which makes their light much better).

    Using a tripod and the self timer helps a great deal, as does adding extra light (as much as possible).
