Does the Sony Handycam DCR-SR72E have any possible way of adding an external mic?

I've just bought this camcorder and I was wondering if you can add an external mic on it. If not then is there a way in of modifying it to allow it or not?

The DCR-SR72E has the Active Interface Shoe which is compatible with these Sony microphones:
