Does the Spanish National Anthem have any lyrics?

I noticed none of the players were singing last night, and I'm sure the crowd were just singing la la la la. and.....Congratulations on reaching the final!!

There are plans to add words and many proposals have been submitted but as yet none have been accepted.

You are right, the crowd were singing la, la la la lala!!!

Despite several attempts, it has never had officially accepted lyrics to sing with it. There are proposals, but Spain is a country with strong separatist feelings in regions like the Basque country and Catalonia, therefore - unfortunately - I think it is going to be very difficult to find words that satisfy everyone. It´s sad to admit, but we aren´t exactly the most patriotic country in the world - it seems we only get the flags out when we play football!!

Nope, It doesn't. Like 6 months ago they proposed lyrics for it but they didn't succeed to accept them. Actually I like it better without than with those lyrics...

The Spanish National Anthem - Marcha Real (Royal March), has no official lyrics.  However, Marcha Real or the Grenadier's Marsh is often performed in a sung format.
