Does the UK get on with the little countrys inside the UK ?

I know theys 4 little countrys but do you get along?

my friend is moving over they and wants to know

The English are arrogant, the Scots Miserable, The Welsh Weird and the Northern Irish mental...we pretend to hate each other but weve got each others back.

Yes we all get along fine, there's always the odd verbal rivalry between countries, but I freely travel to all of them and have been welcomed by all.

Well I can only speak for myself.

I am from Northern Ireland (the mentalists as described above lol)

I am proud to be part of the UK and I think that England, Scotland and Wales are fantastic countries and this is a great place to live =]

The UK is not very United,

The Scottish & Welsh hate the English, and the English are getting tired & fed up of the Moaning Scottish & Welsh,

Most people in England hope that Scotland get's it's Independence, the English Tax Payer would be a lot better off,

Like i said the UK is not very United, The Scots don't pay tuition fees for uni education, but the English do,

The Welsh don't pay for prescriptions, but the English do,

Laws are different in Scotland, etc, etc.

The Scottish don't have British Rail, but Scottish Rail,

The Scottish don't have British Gas, but Scottish Gas,

The Scots just don't want to be part of Britain or the UK, full stop.

If we are so United why so many differences?

The UK is made up of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland

The media would have you believe that we all hate each other.

Here in England, we tend to get the feeling that Scotland and Wales hate us, but i'm not really sure if they do, it's hard to get one view from a country of a few million people

i'm sure there are those that hate all the other countries, and some that like them, that's just the way it goes

The United Kingdom has on paper a set up that established an equality amongst all four - Scotland ,England, Wales . From 1707 the English and Scottish Parliaments were abandoned in favour of a UK Parliament . Within the last two decaded  power has been devolved to Scotland Wales and Northern Ireland with separate Parliaments ecxept England which has to share Westminster with the others!!!  Scotland with adequate natural resources is self sufficient ( Government Expenditure and Revenue Statistics 2007 ) and , despite the" Angelic " remarks made elsewhere is now in fact subsidising her southern neighbour including the misappropriation of National Loottery - oops  Lottery ! - to fund the rebuilding of London's infrastructure for the next Olympics. Aye - quite a few rumbles in the partnership .

The UK (United Kingdom) is made up of four countries England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Due to the history there is some animosity towards the English by some Welsh and some of the Irish.  This is a minority and in general they get along pretty well.

Those who suggest that the Scottish hate the English are wrong, I am English and lived in Scotland for many years and never came across any prejudice.  I also lived in Wales and cannot say the same about living there.

Your friend will not be bothered by this but may well offend the natives by calling any of those citizens from outside England "English", it is OK to call them "Welsh", "Irish" or "Scottish, Scots" or if unsure where they come from they are all "British".
