I'm not a British nationalist! I resent being a part of the United Kingdom. I count myself as Welsh, and I hope the UK breaks up, so that Scotland has the Flower of Scotland, England has Jerusalem and we here in Wales have Hen Wlad fy nhadau!

I hate God Save the Queen! It's turgid and rotten. It hurts my ears when I listen to it. I don't know of any good British Nationalist anthems. They're all pretty horrid.

If I were to advise you English on an anthem it would be Jerusalem. What a quality song.

God Save the Queen needs to be changed, but to what I don't know!

a LOT less boooring than current one -not just the tune but words re: a old vinegary woman-and i`m British.

well take the `mood` when another countries anthem has belted out-including sung by the players at a `game`-then we get ours-not even players sing-embaressed!

Yes - it's a dreadfully dull dirge, not an anthem. Add to it the fact that no-one in Britain cares about the queen and would rather we didn't have a monarchy at all anymore and the time is surely right for a decent new tune.
