Didn't we incite problems in Georgia by pushing it for NATO membership? Why wouldn't Russia get pissed?

  1. The problems in Georgia have nothing whatsoever to do with NATO. Read some news and educate yourself a bit as to what is actually going on. Here is a hint: The south half of Georgia wants to break away just like the confederate states tried to do in the US.

The US is now sending aid and supplies to help the civilian people like we do all over the world. And once again the liberals are whining about us helping people. Pretty cold hearted of them.

  2. Yep, the first world war was one. Winston Churchill is on record saying they should have kept their noses out.

  3. The US government has been hijacked from the US people . Time to take it back .

  4. I think it is important that the U.S. be a strong advocate for freedom and respecting the territorial integrity of independent nations, but unfortunately America's moral authority has been severely damaged since the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan.  The United States has tens of thousands of troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and basically uses Kuwait as a staging area for military imperialism in the region.  The United States cannot legitimately call for withdrawal of troops from Georgia by the Russians when they themselves have little respect for the sovereignty of other nation states.  The most recent example would be American airstrikes inside Pakistan.  Don't get me wrong here.  The United States, Canada, Britain, Germany, etc. should be speaking out, but the U.S. as the most powerful of the NATO group has truly lost it credibility, and its ability, to be taken seriously by other aggressive nations of the world.  The situation in Georgia has no simple solution.  It is a struggle for more autonomy/independence in a country that itself is newly independent.  Remember, Georgia was a Soviet republic for decades, and the roots of the current problems lie within that context.  Mr. Bush's foreign policy has been based on ignorance and arrogance (and don't forget hypocrisy) and his latest comments are only another indication that it will continue until the end of his administration.

  5. Sure we do.....we do it all the time.

Usually though there's always something in it for us.

  6. Ummmmm...yes.

  7. yes

  8. Because Russia has not changed and they are not our allies.

It is time to look again at some of the communist goals:

Capture one or both of the political parties in the US. (which party do you think they infiltrated?)

Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions, by claiming their activities violate civil rights.  (ACLU)

Infiltrate the press and gain control of key positions in radio, TV and motion pictures.  Gain controll of all student newspapers.

Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

Use student riots too foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.

Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch."

Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in schools on the grounds that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."

Promote the UN as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one world government, with its own independent armed forces.

Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.

Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."

  9. If the US didnt "stick its nose in places", then the world would HATE US EVEN MORE FOR NOT "sticking".

Damned if we do, or damned of we dont!

Politics, oil and old ethnic squabbles are the cause of this situation. At some point, these countries need to stop killing and maming each others countries and find other ways to solve their issues.

  10. As soon as the US stops "sticking it's nose where it doesn't belong," everyone will complain that it's doing nothing to help anyone anymore.

The US gets blamed no matter what they do.

  11. If is the policy of America to be invovled in every counties problems, especially when Russia is invovled. Just imagine Americas reaction in the sixties with race problems in America if Russia or another country supported or incited more unrest. So why wouldn't Russia be upset when we are pushing Georgia to put missiles next door to Russia.  America got its shorts in a knot when Russia egged Cuba to put missiles there in the sixties.
