Because if it's just one then that's just unfair! It should be one medal per player.

  1. one.

  2. One.

    Just as the 4x100 swimming relay only counts as 1 and not 4.

    wouldn't be fair would it...?

  3. all team member will get a medal each but only one medal is counted on the medals tally for that particular country.

  4. 1

  5. it would be counted as one gold in the medal tally. though all members of the team would get a gold medal.

    actually its about time that there are more gold medal events in basketball like 5 on 5, 3 on 3, 2 on 2 and 1 on 1. like other sports which run 100 meters 200 meters, 100 meters carrying a pail, relay etc. giving just one medal for all basketball players in the world is a joke given that michael phelps could get 8 or 10 medals swimming in the same pool.

  6. It only counts as 1 medal in the medal standings but it has a greater meaning to americans than just 1 stupid medal on the medal standing. USA for the win

  7. oneeeeeeeeeeeeeeee  just  like relays   and  gymnastics,,,,baseball...etc

  8. 1 team is only 1 medal.

    If team event will be counted as individual gold, imagine if Brazil winning both women and men's football. 18 players from each team. They could win 36 gold medals.

  9. one only

    you can see the distribution of gold medals in the site below;
