Yes they do, in a way. The crowd in Beijing appears to love the USA team. They were even cheering for the Americans when their own team was playing against them. So in the sense of crowd support, the US certainly has an advantage. Compare this to what happened in Athens, where the crowds were certainly hostile to the Americans.
