Does the United States have any military bases in China?

We did have a small listening post in northeast China during the Cold War which was run by the United States and manned by civilians. But, it was not a military installation. It came into being as a result of President Nixon's diplomatic contacts with China. We probably shut it down after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

There also was a small military detachment with the British forces in Hong Kong before that British colony reverted to Chinese control.
