We don't live close to a Volvo dealer and would not want to drive all the way to a dealer to have maintenance done. Do you have to go to a dealer to get the maintenance on a Volvo V50??

  1. is that car a turbo or not. turbo cars need premium gas if u dont have a turbo i think it would be ok. I work 4 a dealer and i no wut customers put the good S**t and that bad S**t in there turbo cars

  2. I cannot specifically answer for the v50, however, I do own a xc90 and a s60R.  It is recommended that the s60 uses premium gas for a maximum performance.  We use the mid grade on both of our vehicles.  Maintenace is a big deal on Volvo's if you want them to honor your warranty, and yet you do have to take it to the Volvo dealer.  There is a maintanence book that comes with the vehicle which will be marked by the maitenance person.  If it is not correctly filled out at the proper time or mileage, you may not honor the warranty.

  3. I run a diesel V50 here in the Uk, and after 21,000 miles it seems to be bullit proof. The one thing i will say is that it is expensive to get body work done.

In terms of mechanicals, we have been uning volvos for years and have never had any problems.
