Does the WITHER ability in Magic the Gathering Shadowmoor fade after the turn is over?

Example: I attack with a 5/5 creature with Wither and am blocked by a 7/7 creature turning it into a 2/2. After my opponents turn is over, does that creature go back to being a 7/7?

  1. yes

  2. No, it does not go back to being a 7/7. Because the Wither ability modifies the way you deal damage. So you already know that it deals damage in the form of -1/-1 counters. But you have to remember, counters DO NOT fade away at end of turn. So that 7/7 stays a 2/2 until you can make it any bigger. Also remember that +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters cancel each other out. Hope this helped!
