  1. Hi Christopher,

To answer your question, Yes it does reduce the risk of the red ring as the Elite actually has a new motherboard chip set that is able to deal with more heat.

However I do know people that have an Xbox 360 Elite and still have problems so it is not guaranteed that you will not get this.

I would say about 6% of Elites will get this as a rule.

    Hope this helps!

  2. No, all XBOX 360 consoles are identical internally. There is no difference besides color and HDD size. If you want a lesser chance of getting it, get the 60GB model. It doesn't have RAM chips on the bottom of the console so less heat is generated there. That can only be good.

  3. The guy that says no is DEAD WRONG....Mine did...The problem is not 100 % fixed....Even my friends Halo 3 360 he got in Dec got the RROD......Its just not as likely to happen....

  4. STOP, don't listen to Andrew P he's wrong!!  They haven't entirely fixed the problem and there's nothing special concerning it for the Elite.  But I can tell you how to find an Xbox with very low chances of getting RROD.  These Xbox's are the only ones being released right now but other older models may be mixed in so you have to check first.  These Xbox's are called Falcon Xbox's because the improved motherboard is called the Falcon model and has improved wiring and metal heatsinks.  To spot one before you buy, check on the side of the box...

1.It will say 175W under power info

    2.It will say TEAM:FDOU

3.The manufacturing date should be on or after 8/24/07

4.The lot number should 0734 or higher.

5.It is possible to get the RROD with a Falcon Xbox but the chances I believe are decreased from 33% to around 10%. =)

6.There may be ones with lower lot numbers, lower manufacturing dates. or a different team but as long as it is 175w it will be a Falcon.

    Hope my advice helped! =)

  5. NO! When the Xbox 360 Elite was released it came with a new, cooler processor and a HDMI port. The other consoles then where changed to the new processor and the new HDMI port a couple months later. Now all the consoles have HDMI ports and cooler processors. All consoles have a chance to get the RROD but the chance is lower on all consoles.

  6. Yup, RROD are still a possibility on all Xbox 360's but this chance is drastically reduced in the Elite.

  7. As a matter of fact, it doesn't. the xbox 360 elite is just the like the regular xbox with an hdmi compatible adapter and a 120G hardrive. the only xbox i know that reduces the chances of the red ring would be the halo 3 version of the xbox 360. and this is because it comes with a new chip that was designed to stop the red rings.

  8. The Elite dosent get the red ring they fixed the problem

  9. ya xboxs are geting better now  any xbox u buy out store besides used  has falcon chips and soon  xboxs have jasper chips  whitch it even makes it less of a chance
