Does the army have a mma team?

i would really like to join the army but then again i really want to be a mma fighter i think ive seen mma fights on the military channel about 2 times and they dont show it anymore so did they get rid of it or do they still have it?

  1. They don't have an MMA team and never have.

    They did sponsor some of the MMA fights awhile back to try to target the newer generation for recruiting, but the guys you saw fighting were never in the Army.

    The only events the Army will let active members go off to compete in are the traditional olympic style events.


  2. Nope, and currently, the military will not let an active duty member,

    Participate in MMA fights.

    There was a marine 1st LT who had 3 or 4 MMA fights, won them all easily.

    But then the Marines decided, he had to choose, the Marines or MMA.

  3. It depends on the country.  The U.S. teaches "Gunfu."  Poorer countries spend more time with their hand to hand and other types of non firearm martial arts.
