Does the bank ever give out "used" money? Is it always brand new?

I was just thinking about this when I was at the ATM earlier. Is that just how they try to keep our currency fresh and crispay?

  1. New money is printed daily and mixed with the used money in banks and ATM.

    They only remove bills in bad shape from circulation

  3. no. one time i went to get my check cashed and they gave me this 5 dollar bill that looked like it had been torn and crumppled and then somehow flattened out again
