Does the bigger the mosquito mean the bigger the bite?

Yes, but not the greater danger.  The mosquitoes that carry dengue fever and malaria are not especially big for mosquitoes.  The bigger the mosquito the bigger itch is usually true but the itchiness depends a lot on the victim too.  Sometimes people react more then they do at other times for various reasons- a sun burn makes a mosquito bite far worse then normal, for example.

Just for the record, although both male and female mosquitos live off nectar from plants, only female mosquitos bite you to suck blood.
