Does the blackberry pearl have text messaging ?

i am planning on geting one....

but my mom has another type of blackberry that doesn't have text messages just regular messages....

and i text a lot....

so i want to know if it is worth the money

Yes it does. but i got my blackberry pearl around xmas, and i hate it so much. it is already givng me problems. i got it because it was cute, i didnt relize it was so bad.

yes, it has MMS, SMS, and email as a way to to text and communicate

yes it has text messging and it also has multimedia messaging

Yes.  You would go to your contact/address book and select to text message a particular person.
