If you really want to learn skateboarding, take some advice from the older generation that perfected it.

I know it was originated a good ten years or so before my time, but the stuff back in the late seventies was wild, and whilst I'd probably look rather like an idiot nowadays even trying it, my dreams are of still doing half pipes and doing a grind on the coping at my local park.

A book may help, but practice and persistance will help you far better.

Gain the idea's and just work from that.
