  1. The British royal family is mostly German.  Queen Elizabeth's mother was half English and half Scottish, which meant Elizabeth is only half German.  However, you married Phillip, a Greek national of German descent.  His family name was Battenburg and he changed it to Mountbatten like his uncle.  If Charles and Diana's children inherit the throne they will be the most English monarchs in centuries.

  2. Prince Phillip is a member of the Greek royal family.

  3. Prince Philip was Prince of Greece but he has no Greek blood. He has German blood. See this link:

  4. The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh (born Prince Philippos of Greece and Denmark, 10 June 1921) is the husband and consort of Queen Elizabeth II.

Originally a royal Prince of Greece and Denmark, Prince Philip renounced these titles shortly before his marriage. At the time of his engagement he was known as Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten. On 20 November 1947, he married Princess Elizabeth, the heiress presumptive to King George VI. Prince Philip is a member of the Danish-German House of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg... which includes the royal houses of Denmark and Norway and the deposed royal house of Greece.

  5. The Duke of Edinburgh was born at the villa 'Mon Repos', the summer retreat of the Greek royal family, on the island of Corfu, on 10th June 1921.

The Duke is the youngest child and only son of Prince Andrew of Greece and Princess Alice, daughter of Prince Louis of Battenberg. His grandfather was a Prince of Denmark who became King George I of Greece, and his great grandfather was King Christian IX of Denmark. The Duke is also related to Kings of Prussia and Emperors of Russia. The Duke renounced his Greek royal title in 1947 before his marriage to Queen Elizabeth II, and became a naturalised British subject following his service in the Royal Navy.

The Duke of Edinburgh and The Queen are both great-great-grandchildren of Queen Victoria. The Duke is a direct descendant of Princess Alice, the third child of Queen Victoria. The Queen is a direct descendant of Queen Victoria's eldest son, Prince Albert Edward (later King Edward VII).
