Question:

Does the centromere of each chromosome in cell A divide before formation of cells B?

How am I supposed to know the answer to this? Cell A is 5 1 inch pieces of gummy worm and cell B is broken into to plates and each plate has 4 pieces. two Long and Two short.

  1. In the process of mitosis, the centromeres of the chromosomes separate in early anaphase.  The daughter cells aren't formed until cytokinesis (division of the cytoplasm) occurs in telophase.   Yes, the centromeres do separate before formation of the two daughter cells.
