  1. yes it does

  2. It reflects heat.  For example, ice at the Antarctic reflects light and heat back into the atmosphere. When the ice melts (due to Global warming) less heat and light is reflected back, and more stays on Earth, causing the temperature to rise.

White will not absorb heat like dark colors.

  3. Yes.

  4. yes

  5. That’s a bit of a trick question.

An object that reflects the full visible spectrum of light will nearly always reflect at least some if not all of the infra-red spectrum (aka: heat).   However since infra-red is not within the visible spectrum of light it is entirely possible that a surface could reflect the visible spectrum while at the same time absorbing the lower frequency wave lengths that include infra-red or heat.

Also consider that the color white can be an indication of extreme heat.  Consider the term white hot.  As an item is super heated it begins to emit light.  The higher the temperature, the wider the spectrum of light that is emitted.   If heated far enough, iron (or tungsten) will emit white light.  This why light bulbs emit “almost” white light.

So the answer to your question is that the color white can be an indication of reflectivity or emission of all the colors including infra-red light known as heat.   (I do not believe the word repel applies accurately to the reflection of light because it actually has to strike the surface and is then bounced back.  Repel would seem to indicate there was never any contact.)

  6. White or lighter colors generally reflects the heat and black or other dark colors absorb it.

  7. White reflects, black absorbs.

In summer black cars get warmer inside when you first get in.

Then also in summer black clothes are not so common to wear, because they keep you warmer.
