Does the colour red make you more hungry?

A friend of mine suggested that the colour red makes you more hungry. This is supposidly the reason that KFC, BK, McD's and many other fast food restaurants have it in their logos. It's a male macho thing aparently. Is there any truth in it?

I have always heard that it is orange that makes you hungry which is why Hardees uses orange in their logo.

A little, makes me think of ketchup, which most fast foods have, so makes the think of that.
