  1. Unless your laptop is getting VERY hot, I would just keep it on. Constantly turning it off and on is more damaging in the long run because of thermal expansion and contraction.

If your system is running within acceptable temperatures, you'll be fine.

  2. Of course, It needs rest.

  3. No. But the machinary should be switch off after your use. I think your system having some problem.....i mean battery problem.....check it..

  4. not really.

but if u run it for a very long time, it may heat up (in laptops) and still used for a longer period of time, it may catch fire. then u need a cooling pad or u need to turn the laptop upside down for say 3-4 minutes.

  5. check dat How many processes are you running?

well it dosent actually needs rest .....it is a machine....n there might be friction b/w da parts......

n so it generated heat if u use it 4 a pretty very long tym......

so u shud turn it off 4 sumtym...

cuz everything has a fixed life!

  6. yup it does ...

the hotness u mentioned is due to long hours so cool it off by switching it off ..

every electronic item showcases this behaviour .. chek your tv set ...

  7. yes all computers need rest.

this allows key components to cool down, and also allows the memory to re-initialize after re-boot

  8. yeah it does mine also is having the same problem

  9. Theoretically speaking, NO. In practice, YES. Laptops do tend to get hot and this is normal. See if your laptop supports power management and features like Cool and Quiet or SideStep. These help keeping your system cool while operating.

  10. It is normal that laptops get hot after a long time of usage. You can get a cooling pad or you can just turn it off, when it gets very hot.

  11. No

  12. not at all it does not needs any rest,

that is another thing when its hot.

  13. Yes. Many components in the modern computer are mechanical: fans, hard drives and monitors, among others, are all under physical duress any time they are in operation. These can wear out and fault, potentially causing damage to other components (especially if cooling fails).

Laptops in particular become hotter as they operate. Electricity and heat building up in a component, even in a component with no moving parts, can reduce the lifespan of the component over time. This is evidenced by overclockers, who often significantly decrease the lifespan of, or outright destroy, a component by making it work harder than it's meant to.  Switching the PC off, hibernating, running in standby mode, or avoiding overclocking eliminate heat build up and mechanical motions, and allows the components to have a longer lifespan. Making your cooling solution more efficient (eg by using water cooling, or buying a laptop cooler) can do the same.

  14. Ofcourse!!

  15. buy a laptop cooler. with a cooler or speedstep you can leave it on 24/7

  16. Sure, Give it a pillow and make sure its all wrapped up in case it gets a little chilly.

  17. Computer wont mind taking some rest. They are machines afterall.... not humans   :-)

Jokes apart, laptop gets heated if u keep it in charging even after they are fully charged. Better to remove charging and allow the system to work on battery. That will keep the stuff cool.
