because if it is, then theres little except for foreign intervention that can rid India of this menace.

If we think of nations such as the United States and the United Kingdom, the true reason that they have become so prosperous over the last century is only because of the benevolence of its people and their willingness to make sacrifices. But in a country like India, where almost everyone has a self-centered agenda how can their be long-term prosperity?

  1. i think it is isnt.....depending on their leader...india may prosper if the president there is good enough to handle the situation there....who will ever forget mahatma gandhi???

  2. Corruption occurs when the people allows it to happen.

  3. You are right, general tendency in India is to bribe to get favours, work done. Society is responsible for corruption. Corruption is responsible of slow growth. In state Govt offices the percentage of bribe is 30-40% of project cost, so contractor will not pay from his pocket, result he will hike price of work, result drainage of tax payers money and resources which could be used in uplifting poor, goes into pocket of corrupt officers.

  4. I think.

  5. Yes, it does.

I'm from Bangladesh and ours was the most corrupted country even a year ago.Yes,things are changing, specially our political state but the mentality of the general mass is being the same.

It's the people who does crime, not a country. If your country is corrupted, then your people are corrupted. The same goes to us.And to speak the truth,I see no way out.
