Does the day I ship out an item count as a shipping day?

Let's say I shipped out a package today from California to Illinois. You know how it takes 2-3 days to deliver the package to Illinois (as it says online), does the day I send it out count as a shipping day? I'm using US Postal Service Priority Mail. Thanks for the answers everyone.

  1. No it doesn't.  Day 1 starts out the next day.
