Does the deep oceanic current play the same role in deep ocean weather as the upper atmosphere Jet Stream play

The two Atmospheres here on earth is air, and water.

though both are part of one and the same, such as platonic shifts, and Earth plates grinding against eachother. I wondered.

at the effects of the two most fluent that have life living exclusively in them.

I know of dirt fering creatures, I am excluding them.

My question is: does the deep oceanic current play the same role in deep ocean weather as the upper atmosphere Jet stream plays on our weather?
