Does the die they inject at Pet stores, for fish hinder their lives?

Today I went to Pet supplies Plus to get comets for our Pirahna. While there I seen a albino clawed frog with one eye. He has been died with a green die (The store was calling them Painted or rainbow frogs). Any ways, I asked if they would give me a discount for the frog with one eye, They gave him to me for free (Yeah Me!!!) but, I have seen fish that stores call painted that have been injected with some sorta die, and I'm assuming it's the same die they injected into the frogs. Will this die hinder his life?
