  1. Yes, a digital signal can be thought of as a special kind of analog signal which switches between two fixed voltage levels. It is also known as a square wave, or more usually a complex pulse wave.

    A square wave contains the fundamental frequency (=switching frequency) and all the odd-numbered harmonics (3x, 5x, 7x, etc.). A pulse wave contains a complex set of even and odd harmonics.
