Question:

Does the direction of the wind, cause the fish to bite any better.?

My grandmother use to tell me, if the wind is from the west, the fish bite the best. If the wind is from the east, fish bite the less. If the wind is from the north, hock in the fish mouth. I don't remember about the south.

  1. No way! Since the fish are under the water we're talking about the direction of the ripples on the surface of the water right? And I'm guessing that has absolutely no effect

    .....Sounds like an old wives tale!!

I find that there is a relationship between weather and fishing success.  Wind direction is associated with weather.  I would say that it would not be surprising to learn that there is some truth to this old wives tale, although personally I have never noted any.  But I haven't paid any attention either.
