  1. Some do and some don't. I would call and ask, especially if this is important to you.

  2. It's all up to whoever is paying.

  3. Yes. The DJ is supposed to start playing music once the guests start arriving...If you are getting married and having the reception at the same place than they should start about as soon as the wedding. Slow soft music to start it out like Michael Buble and work into other stuff.

  4. If you pay for him to, yes.

  5. It it is in his contract, yes.  You contract a dj for a specific number of hours.  If you need to add time for cocktail hour, you pay for it.

So, see how long your reception is planned and how long the DJ is scheduled to play.  Decide if you want background music during dinner and then see if there is time for cocktail hour.  If not, add it to the contract (or use  an IPOD).

  6. He can, it is really up to the time that you have him scheduled to be there. If you want music playing then make sure you work into the contract what time he is to show up and start playing music, tell them that the first hour will be cocktail music and then the rest of the time will be for the reception!

If you cocktail area is seperate from the reception area and the dj would have to move equipment (time consuming), then you might want to look into something else!

  7. Yes he does :).  They should have appropriate sound equipment for outdoors.
