Does the dog have rabbies and throwin up?

my son in law has a pit bull that he left at his mothers house outside for 2 days, chained up the dog somehow had to what appeared to be cuts on his chest area 2 days later the dog will not drink water and foams at the mouth, his tougne has turned black with a shade of green please answer asap thanks

If you think the dog has rabies, you HAVE to get it to a quarantine center before it infects another animal or worse, someone in your family.  Call your local animal control center and inform them that you believe a family pet has been infected with rabies, stay as far away from that dog as you can. At best, separate the dog into another room, behind closed doors.

It could be a internal illness. You need to seek a professional.Hope your pet get well.

Rabies shots are still needed but a case of pet rabies hasn't been in the US for a very long time. He could have eaten something, any chance he got wrapped in the chain and cut himself? I'd take him to the vet to be checked out anyway.

Is the dog current on his rabies vaccine?

Rabies can only be determined by destroying the animal and having the head sent in for examination.

Sounds like it may be rabies tho.. I would not handle this dog myself.  Call your local Animal Control.. they will know how to properly handle the dog.
