Does the earth move when you push on a wall?

if you push on the wall of a building that is firmly planted into the ground does the building move?

  1. yes the building will move to a completely new point in space, However that is due to the movement of the earth, solar system and galaxy and has nothing to do with you pitting your insignificant strength against steel and concrete.


  2. If you could do so without using the earth as leverage (like your feet pushing the other way).  You'd have to have a rocket or something that exhausts to space.  And even then the earth wouldn't accelerate much unless the force were rather large.

  3. no because you are pushing on a wall so u are moving the wall.. if every1 push a wall at the same time earth wouldnt move because the gravity of the sun is too great that small thing to move it.. and even if it did it wouldnt stay moved the earth would just bounce back into position because gravity pulls it there. but if u jump on the ground u move the atoms in earth.. even on the other side u get like .000000000000000000000000000000000000000...

    increase of thermal energy from that jump at some point.
