Does the earth need oil to lubricate itself?

It seems like the worst earthquakes are happening in oil producing countries. I wonder if it has anything to do with the extraction of oil. I know there are exceptions. Please, only intelligent answers and opinions.

  1. Earthquakes happen in almost every continent and are the result of pressure on the fault lines in the earth's crust. drilling for oil could not have a impact on the condition of these fault lines.
