  1. I think i would as making material most of it uses electricity, unless you use clean energy and the worker who goes to the factory to work take cars, buses these need fuel which produce pollutants. When the materials is deliver to the comsumer it also need energy.

  2. just about as much as a f**t

  3. air yes- almost all activity, human or otherwise, results in "air pollution", or emissions of "non-air" substances into the atmosphere on some scale somewhere along the process.

even the generation of  "clean" power from solar or wind produces air pollution when the equipment is manufactured. there is air pollution emitted when the metals and other materials are mined, smelted, and/or otherwise shaped into the end product. the amount of air pollution is less than other means such as coal fired electrical plants.

air pollution is not new- cavemen crated air pollution when they killed and cooked their food- even when they made their stone axes (crushing stone creates emits particulate matter into the atmosphere)

before man- animals polluted the earth with methane gas air emissions from digestion.

in any case, air pollution is a fact of life and the higher the standard of living, generally the more pollution of all types it requires to sustain it--  the benefits of what is being emitted must be weighed against the harm that is caused by the pollutant.

this is where some folks have opinions that go to either extreme- don't drive cars as they pollute, or what i drive is my own business-

  4. No, industrial processes CAN be squeaky clean, if they're designed right.

Polluting is slightly cheaper (in the short run, anyway)... and easier.  Which is why America used to be such an environmental h**l-pit, and Russia, and India and China now...
