Does the environmental movement have a "boy who cried wolf" problem?

To what extent do many people tune environmentalists out automatically, simply because the movement itself has been in the past guilty of hyperbole, exaggeration and in some cases just outright disinformation?

Anyone that has had a reasonable education deals with AGW adherents in the same way they do with the people who sell that Watchtower magazine on street corners. Ignore them as much as you can and when they start threatening you with an eternity in h**l if you do not repent and join them try and show them the errors in their logic. Unfortunately when dealing with any form of evangelistic fundamentalist fanatic reason rarely functions in their minds when it comes to their religious faith.

Being a doubter and denier of religious fundamentalism from a family whose denial of faith based teachings goes back more than a thousand years it never ceases to amaze me how suckers get drawn into these movements, P.T. Barnum was more than right he was prophetic!

This morning I heard a report on a record freeze of the peach crop in April in the California farm belt.  Since we are barred from questioning Dr. Albert Gore, I guess the ice the polar bear pictured in the newscast footage flowed down southwesterly to refreeze in America's Siberia, California.  So the environmental movement is right, you are wrong.  It has been decided by the 6:30 p.m science convention!  "The boy who" is an apt description.  It would be funny but for the impact is having at the gasoline pump and consequent to that the very lives of many people living on a marginal income.

Yes with a twist- They use the AGW scare to wrest power and control over us to create a one world socialist state.

Unfortunately a lot of people do not recognize the environmentalists propaganda for what it is.  The environmental agenda is presented as unrefutable scientific fact (and nothing could be further from the truth).  Traditional media falls in step, partially because of similar political leanings, but mainly because good news is not news, only bad news is news.

In general, the European countries are starting to come around and recognize the damage the greens have done not only to the economy, but ironically, to the environment.  Anti-green sentiment is growing quickly in Europe and it is staring to crop up here in the USA.

The environmentalist should not be tuned out.  They should be scrutinized and exposed for the shallow frauds that they are.
