Any OT's out there know if the field and training of it requires dealing with blood that includes all labs and the actual career itself. I am a diabetic and have to prick my finger occasionally which is why im scared. Please help. Serious replies only as i am nervous. Thanks.

  1. Hi my sister is an OT and other than possibly seeing blood at uni (during common first year human biology studies) you will usually not see or come in contact with blood. OT's are highly skilled health care practitioners involved with rehabilitation and other forms of patient care.

In your day to day work you will not come into contact with blood, except if there is an accident where a patient might have cut or hurt themselves.
