Does the fine get worse?

If you have a fine on a library card (in Vancouver, BC) and you haven't paid it for a while. Will the price of the fine be greater if you pay it like, 1 year later, compared to 1 day later? I just want to know if the fine will still be the same amount as when I first got it. It's for a lost book.

there is a limit of $30 on fines

Write to them enclosing the cost of the original fine, apologise for your tardiness and see what they have to say in their reply.
